Getting started
What is DocuBox?
An online builder for training, assessment and Verification of Competency (VOC) documents. Pick a unit, skill set or qualification, choose the branding, and download a complete, ready-to-use set. Everything is mapped to nationally recognised units of competency under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
Do I need to be a registered training organisation?
No. Companies use DocuBox for VOCs and workplace training. Training providers use it for full assessment kits.
How long does it take?
Most units are ready in a few minutes. We email you when they're done, and they stay in your account to download again any time.
Can my team use it?
Yes. Every plan includes 5 team seats. Invite your staff from Settings and they sign in as themselves.
The documents
What counts as a "unit"?
One nationally recognised unit of competency, for example "Operate an excavator". Each one comes with the full set of documents. A skill set or qualification uses one unit for each unit inside it, and a VOC uses one unit for each unit it covers.
What formats do I get?
Word (so you can edit), fillable PDF, PowerPoint slides, an Excel mapping spreadsheet and an eLearning (SCORM) package for your learning system.
Can I put my own logo on them?
Yes. Add your logo, colours and company details as a brand in Settings, and pick it when you build. You can have different branding for each build, or none at all.
Can I edit the documents?
Yes. You get Word versions and can contextualise them to your workplace, equipment and procedures.
Are they mapped to the AQF?
Yes. Every performance criterion and knowledge requirement is mapped, and you get the mapping in Excel so you can show exactly what's covered.
VOCs
What is a VOC?
A Verification of Competency checks a worker can do a task safely and to standard on your site. Ours are aligned to nationally recognised units and come with a mapping spreadsheet.
Is a VOC a licence?
No. A VOC is not a licence, statement of attainment or nationally recognised outcome, and it doesn't replace a licence the law requires. For high-risk work the worker must already hold the licence.
Can I add my own site checks?
Yes. Add your site, equipment and up to 10 extra items you want checked, and choose how the theory questions are asked.
Plans and billing
Is the first week really free?
Yes. You add your card to start, but nothing is charged for 7 days. You get the Corporate plan (up to 20 units) for the week. Cancel any time before it ends and you won't be charged a cent.
What happens after 7 days?
The plan you picked starts, charged to the card you added. We email you 2 days before. Cancel before then and you move to Free: 1 unit a week, and everything you've received stays licensed.
Is there anything extra on top?
No. The price you see is the price you pay each week, with nothing added at checkout. You get a receipt every week.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from your account. Your plan runs to the end of the week you're in, then you move to the Free plan.
What happens to my documents if I cancel?
You keep using everything you've received on the Free plan. Your licence only ends if you close your account.
